ZIO is currently seeking qualified candidates for the role of Lead Installation Technician responsible for the delivery, implementation, and service of the systems that ZIO designs and installs.

Work Activities and Duties

The various functions include but are not limited to the following activities:

  • Install electronics equipment, devices and accessories (including, but not limited to televisions, tuners, speakers, amplifiers, processors, projectors, screens, racks, conduit and raceways, control systems, networking hardware, communications equipment, security systems, and lighting control systems) in an efficient, clean and neat manner with particular attention paid to future serviceability and well-organized wire and cable management.
  • Build equipment racks and install equipment in the shop for testing and equipment verification prior to site delivery.
  • Terminate cables, install jacks/wall plates, labeling, & documentation.
  • Install wire and cable in new and existing structures (including, but not limited to, speaker, communications, control, audio and video cabling.)
  • Programming – occasionally load and test programming, software and firmware into control systems, and other electronics equipment.
  • Organize all project information and materials both in the office and on the job site
  • Complete all service tickets, reports, and other paperwork accurately and on time
  • Interface with clients and other professionals in a way that best represents ZIO
  • Receive your InfoComm CTS Certification within the first 180 days of employment

Competencies and Qualifications

The Technician should possess the following knowledge, skills, abilities, and characteristics to be successful in this position:

  • Having demonstrated technical aptitude installing electronic systems in the custom electronics field.
  • Experience in related fields such as security, IT infrastructure, building automation or other low-voltage
  • systems installation field will also be considered.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good customer service skills.
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to use tools and solve unique problems.
  • Valid Florida Driver’s License, clean driving record and clean criminal background.
  • Personal integrity and exceptional ethics
